A successful entrepreneurial journey from one pushcart to a kebab empire.

Kebab Turki Baba Rafi was founded in 2003 by Mr. Hendy Setiono a young entrepreneur who started operating a single pushcart at Nginden Semolo Street in Surabaya, Indonesia. The business was inspired by his visit to Qatar to see his father. In Qatar Hendy experience the amazing culinary world of the Middle East after trying a local kebab. He was impressed with the simple yet tasty local delicacy which was popular with both locals and tourists. In 2006 after opening a few profitable push-carts by himself, Baba Rafi started to franchise the business. Since that decision Baba Rafi has achieved significant growth every year, reaching over 1200 outlets in Indonesia in 2014. While continuing to grow domestically,  Baba Rafi began their international expansion in 2012.

“Innovation” is one of the most important words in the Baba Rafi office. Our kebabs are not just food to us. We work constantly on improving our kebabs taste and experience. Every year we develop new menu items which meet the changing tastes of customers. But the most unique feature of our kebabs is our patented packaging. We solved the problem of many people who really like kebab but do not like the mess that comes with it. Our “pull-up” packaging provides a solution which is totally hassle-free.
